Pepelu: "We failed to make the most of some key moments"

Valencia CF midfielder Pepelu spoke after the team conceded a late goal to Villarreal CF that condemned them to a regional derby defeat.

Conceding in the closing minutes

We can’t let a move like that happen. It happened against Real Sociedad, and it happened again today. We need to keep working, pick ourselves up, and move forward.

Analysis of the game

We failed to make the most of some key moments. You take the lead, you have chances to make it 2-0, and when you have an extra man in the final minutes, you have to take advantage of that. We can’t afford to have a player sent off, and the final move from Villarreal CF is something that just shouldn’t happen.

Recovering

We have to move on and pick ourselves back up; first by preparing for the Copa del Rey, and then by heading to Elche convinced that we can win.
